QLD Training Requirements

This page details the training requirements for Responsible Service of Alcohol, Responsible Service of Gambling, Food Handlers and Food Safety Supervisors in the State of Queensland.

QLD RSA Training Requirements

In Queensland all persons employed in a licenced premises who are involved in the sale of alcohol are required to hold a current QLD Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation(OLGR) - Respsonsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate. Training for this certificate is based on the National Unit of Competency SITHFAB009A but may only be delivered by Registered Training Organisations and trainers that are licenced by the OLGR.

QLD RSG Training Requirements

In Queensland all persons employed in a licenced premises who are involved in the sale or delivery of gambling products are required to hold a current QLD Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation(OLGR) - Respsonsible Service of Gambling (RSG) Certificate. Training for this certificate is based on the National Unit of Competency SITHGAM006A but may only be delivered by Registered Training Organisations and trainers that are licenced by the OLGR.

QLD Food Handler Training Requirements

In Queensland Food Handlers are not required to undertake any specific training but there is a general obligation under the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) that everyone involved in the production, preparation, handling and transport of food be trained to a level commensurate with their responsibilites. Most councils recognise completion of SITXOHS001A - Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures as meeting the FSANZ requirements for food handler training.

QLD Food Safety Supervisor Training Requirements

In QLD, a Food Safety Supervisor must have a Statement of Attainment issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the competencies identified in the table below. The Australian Online College offers the Units of Competency SITXOHS002A and SITXFSA001A which meet the QLD training requirements for the Retail, Hospitality, Transport and Distribution industries.
