Course Description

This course develops the partipant's skills and knowledge to assist them in providing responsible gambling services and in providing information to customers who require assistance with problem gambling. The Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) program is recommended for all employees who are currently employed in, or intend to work in a gambling environment.

The unit also relates to satisfying the requirements for providing responsible gambling services under State and Territory legislation. The terms used to describe this vary across State and Territory regulatory bodies and can include responsible conduct of gambling (RCG) and responsible service of gaming or responsible service of gambling.

This is a modular course and has sections relating to:

• How to provide responsible service of gambling.
• How to provide information and assistance to customers about problem gambling.

This course includes multiple choice assessment exercises at the end of each section. Students are able to view the course materials as often as required and must achieve 100% in each of the assessment exercises to pass the course. (Multiple attempts at the assessments are permitted).

This course is interactive and narrated.

Participants are able to to download a pdf version of the learner guide and can print, save and email their Statement of Attainment immediately upon completing the course.

Mode of Delivery

This course is delivered online.

Accreditation

This course is accredited and is delivered as Nationally Recognised Training under the Australian Quality Training Framework. Training and assessment is provided by the Australian Online College Pty Ltd RTO # 32289.

Completion of this course leads to the issue of a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency 'SITHGAM006A' and the QLD OLGR Responsible Service of Gambling Certificate.

This course meets the training requirements and is approved in QLD, SA, NT & WA. NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS do not currently accept online training courses as meeting the requirements in their jurisdictions.

Pre-requisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Entry Requirements

Students must supply a current, valid email address in order to enrol in the course and must have access to a computer with:

• Broadband internet access
• Web Browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox Preferred)
• Email account access
• Flash 8 or higher player
• Sound card and speakers required for listening to narration
• Printer required to print Statement of Attainment ( Statement of Attainment can also be saved as pdf or emailed)

Career Opportunities

This course is a beneficial for employees within gambling venues and is mandatory within some jurisdictions. It applies to all sectors of the hospitality industry where gambling activities are carried out including clubs, hotels, pubs and casinos.

Time to Complete

You should allow four hours of uninterrupted time to complete the online component of this course.

Requirement for Recurrent Training

SITHGAM006A - Responsible Service of Gambling does not require recurrent training.

Cost

The cost of this course is AUD$75 including GST and a downloadable copy of your Statement of Attainment.

Students who would prefer a printed and laminated copy of their Statement of Attainment posted on completion of your course can select that option from the 'Certificate Options' located just above 'Enrol & Pay buttons at an additional cost of $15.
